This is my very first mandolin, which I received for this past Christmas as a gift. It's a Smoky Mountain SM62E Electric-Acoustic mandolin with volume/tone knobs, magnetic pickup, covered gear tuners, adjustable bridge, etc... I was wondering, as a newbie here and a newcomer to mandolin playing myself, what you all think of it and what your opinions are. All opinions are valid and helpful! Thanks!

If it puts you on a happy journey I love it! I never plug in a mandolin. Probably says more about my style of music though.

You ought to have a lot of fun with it. Check the setup, though. I had an electric I had to knock a good half-inch from the bottom of the bridge to make it playable. and welcome to the cafe!

It looks like it has bronze strings on it right now, stainless steel (made for magnetic pick-up by GHS, etc.) would work better on it if you plug it in. The space between the same string pairs at the bridge seems very tight as well, could probably use a set-up.
