They're discussed on a few other threads (most recently here (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?92399)), and were reportedly made from 1950 to 1956. If it's really in the exceptional condition the seller describes, the BIN on this one doesn't look too far wide of the mark.

In fact, this appears to be the same instrument that is discussed in that recent thread, and sold then for $787.88. I'm purely a window shopper, but it does look like a fun instrument.

I thought it probably was the same one, but the CL listing had gone. Given the prices quoted here (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?21227), I'm not surprised someone's trying to flip it.
