I have a Gibson F5G custom with standard Gibson tuners. I would like to replace the pearloid buttons with ivoroid buttons? Anyone know who sells such a replacement? :mandosmiley:~o)

There are at least two different types of tuners used on F5G's in the last several years. can you post a picture?

Those are the famous Gibson Grovers, made by Grover for Gibson and Gibson alone. I can't recall if they have square posts or if they have two flats, I believe they have two flats. If they have two flats you might be able to file them square to match up with existing Waverly square shaft buttons. To my knowledge there are no other buttons available that will just slide on. If someone else knows of them I'm sure they will jump in.

Take a look at the buttons on www.stewmac.com.

StewMac has the Buttons but only manufacturedfor Waverly.. that they Make #4623

and Schaller that are Epoxy Glued on. #4621

+1) neither plug right on Grovers..

Might be simpler to buy tuners with the buttons that have your chosen Look,
and exchange the whole assembly..

given ths pin spacing is in just a few categorys over time..

put the originals back on when You Sell The Mandolin..

Of course a Luthier can do the change work for you Mike described
