The world will beat a path to your door -- I am certain. Can't let those guitar folks get too far ahead of us.

...to do exactly what to you? ~:>
This guy at least can actually play his outlandish machine (it's a mandolin with the biggest armrest you ever saw):

Lief Sorbye of Tempest (a celtic rock band) plays a double necked mandolin on stage much of the time.

He has several of these instruments (http://www.tempestmusic.com/html/lief.html) built by different builders (scroll down for further links and details).

Completely off topic, but thanks for posting that! Bill Bailey is one of my favorite comedians and virtually unknown in the US. He's actually pretty good on guitar, and bouzouki, and keyboard, and bicycle horn :)

Rumor has it the wood used to make these mutant instruments was cut from logs dredged up from the depths of the Susquehanna River directly downstream from the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Station.
I just have to know how he reaches the bottom guitar or the one above it for that matter and to think I complained about having to gig with my Les Paul. ~:>

Or one can play four, if you happen to be from planet Zorg...

Robbie Robertson's double neck guitar/octave mando (or 8-string tenor) was the real deal.

The mando/tenor side doesn't figure in, but this track of the Band with the Staples gives me chills...
