I haven't been asked to play my mando - I only started last April- but I should have fun Saturday night at the Presbyterian church in Portage la Prairie, MB. (Maybe next year I'll be brave.) Is there anyone else who will actually be performiing in honor of Robby Burns in their town this January? I can almost taste the haggis... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I will be performing Ingestion of Haggis & Neeps w/ a wee dram on Burns Night (25th January). I will give my wife (a Wanton Wee Thing) ae Fond Kiss.
On the following day, Jan 26th (Australia Day) I will play Waltzing Matilda and Advance Australia Fair on my mandolin while standing on my head and eating a meat pie with vegemite and beetroot, alll the time raising a glass to the great Australian expat Jakob Skriek.

Im playing Saturday night for Robert Burns dinner here in Portland. Playing mando with 3 other people, a Bouzooukie, and two fiddles. Then afterwards they are having a Ceili and we are playing for that also.

Hello Mandodebbie,
As a Scot, I just have to correct you. It's Rabbie Burns. Never use Robby, that's an English name.
Anyway I'm sure that you would have a great time.
Cheers
