Now this bi*ch is beyond cool. I absolutely love the red finishes they did in the post Loar period.
Instead of posting in each thread, I'll say... thanks for all the pictures. You had some very remarkable stuff

To me the finishes that started in late 26 ish were great....the lighter shade of red really is pleasing to one's eye....

You're wecome on the pictures.....I just thought since I found all of these that folks were enjoy seeing the differences over the years and also some of the unique expressions on mandolin making that some makers have.

As for a collection.....I was a piker compared to you. I still remember the first time we met at your house and all the stuff you pulled out of those closets in that upstairs room......whew made my head spin......that 28 Fern......the 12 fret D28....and the Loars etc etc.

Folks need to understand that when either you, Tom or Ken bring up a topic about these instruments it isn't guess work on your parts.....you either own or have owned the real deals.....and in your case have been documenting these pieces of history for decades.....
