After searching nowhere fast, it seems reasonable to ask here. Who are the better custom flat top, X braced tenor luthiers?

I would call Paul Lestock of Arrow Guitar & Mandolin...PM me for his number if you can't find it.

Dan, just be aware that if you look at the Breedlove, it has a longer scale length then a normal tenor. It is made for GDAE tuning and can't be tuned CGDA with out breaking strings.

Joel Eckhaus/Earnest Instruments built me this beautiful Selma tenor (http://www.earnestinstruments.com/selma.html) with figured koa back and sides. I was playing it last night and that thing sings so sweetly. Mine is the one showing the back in the top photo. Joel is an excellent tenor player and knows how to build to get the best tone out of them.

Wow1, lots of beautiful tenors in the links! At the moment i'm most interested in fixed bridges on flat tops. Do you guys prefer tenors listed to, say, a Martin O18T. But that Selma was lovely.

The heads up on the Breedlove longer scale is most appreciated. Somehow i stumbled into this info on the Breedlove site. i knew Kim when he worked a few miles down the road for Stelling. He might make a short scale for me, but i don't know the reputation of those instruments.

i'll look into Arrow.
