Can someone give me an opinion of the difference between a Kentucky KM600 and a Kentucky KM630?

Hello,

Everything is different (literally). These are made at separate locations. The KM-600 specs out better, but I would choose the KM-630 due to it being more consistent. If you want to go higher than the 630, jump up to the KM-675.

I would love to find a Korean or better yet a Japanese 675 but...
I do have my eye on a KM855 or possibly a Loar520...
Thanks for the info though...I was confused that the 600 seemed to be a better mandolin but was a "lower" number than the 630. I actually did not know that SAGA had different facilities.

Saga uses several facilities for the Kentucky line. The current Chinese made models are nicer than the Korean versions. I would say that China surpassed Korea by 2005. The 675 has went through a few versions as well. 2007 and later would be the ones to look for.

Haven't got a comparison to throw in to the mix but as an owner of a 630 I can say how satisfying it is - mine is three years old and I don't intend to ever upgrade unless my wife wins the lottery or I get picked for maondcafe giveaway.I I didn't realise the 600 was meant to be higher spec so thanks for asking the question.
