This is the first 3 point I've done and I'm very happy with how it came out. It has a red spruce top and eastern maple back, neck, and sides. The fret board is a compound radius starting at 5.5" which is tighter than what I've done before but I like a lot. I'll put up some sound bites shortly. Let me know what you think.

Sweet mandolin, and a stitched panorama all in one post. That's a first.

Beautiful job, Dan. I'm looking forward to hearing the sound clips. Everything about it looks great; beautiful design, well executed. The inlay work looks top-notch.

Best wishes, Bob

At three days old, this is the best sounding mandolin that I have built bar none. As always, I'd love some feedback and opinions on the tone.

This was recorded on my iphone 5. No eq or anything added

Extremely handsome instrument, Dan. Beautiful work.

p.s. the sound clips are wonderful, too. Do you have any clues as to why you think this one might sound better than anything you have made before?

Thanks! As for the tone, I have been gradually implementing changes to my plate contours and graduations. I am getting very close to where I'd like to be.

Beautiful instrument. Very handsome. Aesthetics are balanced. And a surprise too, because what I had expected from a "three point" is a scroll and three points.

Very nice.

Dan is another of the remarkable builders in our world. I don't know of a builder that can play so well. Maybe it is a matter of preference but I'm just 'knocked out' by the music on Dan's webpage. Wow. Dan and Mark Cherry have got a really nice mandolin and guitar sound.
Is there a CD available?

Thanks. The Piazzolla we are playing on my page is some of my favorite music. Since I moved to Nashville and Mark is still in Michigan, we no longer play together. There are some YouTube videos of us playing those pieces as well as some other duet material.

Thanks Andrew, as does your most recent F. I love the color and burst on it

Really nice finishing job on that'n...! The sunburst is both new and old feeling at the same time. That's a hard bit to get down.

And... it sounds great!
