Hi all. Is there a Django fakebook out there, his tunes in standard notation with changes, ala the Real Book?

Wish there were, Pete.
There are some great sites for guitar tab, even some MP3 recordings for guitar, but the format you are talking about is not available.
This would be very popular if it were, though! Just melody & chords, no obnoxious extended guitar solos transcriptions (leave the soloing to the user...).

Pete, did you establish whether the Robin Nolan book was in standard notation? I've used Robin's books extensively in my gypsy guitar tutelage (although not the one in question), and they have been exclusively in guitar tablature. Wonderful books, but pretty difficult to adapt to mandolin (althought the practice CDs are priceless!).

I saw the Robin Nolan Trio playing in the streets of Amsterdam in 1997, during my honeymoon - never heard of them before, but they blew me away!!

Pretty cool to hear about them again & that they were actually more than a couple of guys playing in the streets of Amsterdam!!

I think I remember that it was Amsterdam #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif #

Oh Amsterdam!!

Had me thinking of Mr Grappelli's charts rather than D'Jango's , though I dont think he had to read a thing..

Not mandolin stuff, but I think it might help:

plus:

This last one has "grids" and "playalongs" for many manouche songs

Hope it helps...
