I feel like I'm hogging this forum, so this is the last video I'm going to post. I found this randomly the other day. Someone filmed our show opening for Bob Log III and we had no idea. The mix is off but it's still fun. Enjoy!!!!

Hey, I don't post often but just wanted to let you know I enjoy the videos and keep em coming, don't feel like your hoggin' the forum. I am always looking for mandolin in more of a freak/indie/rock-folk context, or whatever you wanna call it. Good inspiration to see others thinking outside the box, it's not just bluegrass!

Any recommendations for some mandolin-centric bands that get at that awesomely weird folky vibe like you guys got going?

I'm not familiar with many folk rock bands with mandolin. Check out the song Westfall by Okkervil River (link: http://youtu.be/9NTess9flgY). Sarah Jarosz is pretty amazing. I really only enjoy the songs she covers. I don't like Death Cab for Cutie but she does a great version of one of their songs, Shankhill Butchers. Here's her doing a Tom Waits tune http://youtu.be/DzapgZI5SEc.... Here's our band camp where you can download our songs for free. No studio recording with the drummer yet but they are fun tunes.

Thanks for listening!

Shankhill Butchers is a Decemberists tune. I've been playing mando and banjo in an acoustic foursome doing a lot of non-BG covers for the last year: G. Welch, N.Young, B Spears via R. Thompson, Gaga, Adele, F. Eaglesmith, Prine, Dylan, Dead, Rockpile, Petty, Darrrel Scott, Little Feat, etc, etc. I sometimes miss the traditional folk melodies, but fitting mando into these covers has really pushed me to be more creative with the instrument. We've only added drums to the mix for one gig, but you guys do it well. Keep up the good work
