Loar #1 owner passes

Was at a jam last night and learned that Pat Holland was buried yesterday. Pat was the long-time owner of the earliest known Loar-signed F-5 (June 1922) and was a kind and gentle man who loved talking about that mandolin. He let me play it a few times and it is something else, what an E string.

A super nice man I got to know many years ago. He loved that Loar so much. It was as close to the Monroe sound as any Loar I've played. Pat stayed picking and he will be missed.
