Here's the new octave which has a lot of custom and personalized features.
On the last 4 I've tried several combinations of wood but this is the first with red spruce and bigleaf and it's a killer combination.

RS and Big Leaf sound killer together??

Shock and awe!!

BTW and once again, bound f-holes are all kinds of sexy.

This is a one-take noodle session of me on the Olympus LS-10. I wish I could go into Coop studio with another great local player with every instrument but that's just not realistic.
I view the octave as a great place to experiment with different tone woods.

Love it too!!! 7 month old Grandblessing listening and looking at computer. He said "Hudtzaa!!!" :) (He likes)

Drop dead gorgeous. That's a nice piece of quilt for someone to curl up underneath as the evenings get longer...
Octaves on the lower courses?

You are way too modest. That sounds better than about 75% of what is sold on iTunes. Fantastic instrument. I have to keep repeating to myself that I don't need an octave mandolin.

Jim, your work is so consistently impressive, that it's hard to add a superlative that hasn't been bandied about before but, WOW. That looks great. I'm sure the new owner is even more excited than we are to see and hear it.
