Ry does some great mando work on this Rolling Stones cover of the Robert Johnson song. Anyone know if he ever did any other recordings with the Stones?

My band worked up an arrangement of this cover combining Ry's solo from Let_It_Bleed with Mick Taylor's solo from Get_Your_Ya _Ya's_Out. Mandolin combined with slide guitar sounded great.

I believe that Ry Cooder ended up feeling ripped off by the Stones & for a while referred to them as "Reptiles"...

Ry played a ton of slide guitar on those "Let it Bleed" sessions, only to have them wiped with Keith's studied version of Ry's playing...
Thus the animosity...

Some of his tracks remained, though, most notibly the incredible slide work on "Sister Morphine"...

He's also all over the throw-off LP "Jamming with Edward", with the Stones and Nicky Hopkins...

They been ripping stuff off for years....they stole lots of blues songs by Willie Dixon and others and put their names on them....
