im thinking about an octave mandolin. ive played the trinity college OM, and liked it pretty well. anyone had any experiences with either? both are similar priced, and i was just wondering if anyone found one to be better? and which one has a shorter scale length? (wee little hands)

oh, i just remembered i played a gold tone OM as well, how do they compare?

Baron-
I believe the Fenders are brand new this year, so there aren't a lot of folks who have experience with them. (there was a thread about this a while ago). But you should be able to get the specs (e.g. scale length) from their respective websites.

what is your budget? and what kind of playing are you seeking to do? melody? accompaniment? what genres/styles? this may influence your decision-making...

hey-- checkout Mandohack's review of the Fender on that other thread. Apparently he just got one in... mixed reviews.
