I am an avid woodworker and just started venturing into the realm of insturment construction. I have done a kit guitar and I would like to build a mandolin this year.
I have been scouring the net for and reading all the instruction pages and books I can get. Now I would like some advice from some of you who have already built one, be your projects several or few. Share with me come of your stories and experiences and advice.

It depends on how deep you want to get into the project. There are some very good kits available that have many of the critical steps done, yet leave plenty of work for you to make the instrument to your personal preference. If you want to do it all, start by getting Roger Siminoff's new book and some materials, but read the book first.
