I hope I won't make someone mad here but this (at the moment) is worth it for the tailpiece alone......

Needs work, and looks like the headstock's been patched up. Could be a project for somebody.

More than a little rough around the edges and the original pickguard is missing. My style A is broken at that same spot, very common for that era. In fact this is an early one only 19 off from my serial number.

Yes, it is in rougher condition than my style A too. Altho, I see that it is doing the same thing mine is; coming apart at the sides. Took the tension off of mine until I can get it fixed!

There's no mention of whether the neck is straight or bowed... that's a 'biggie'...

My style A had a bad break at that same neck join and I had it repaired some time ago, held together for a year or two and then started coming undone. I am checking into repair/replacement costs. I have a feeling that it will be the latter. I prob have much more cost into what the instrument is worth already or will certainly have if and when I get the neck fixed. I would be real careful about spending too much on this style C.

Duane the luthier is still trying to fix a similar break on my Style C. He did say that if he's not able to do the repair to his satisfaction, he'll trade me his own Style C, which does not have a break.

My Style A mandola's neck repair is ugly, but it's holding up fine.

Thank goodness my Style A mandolin has never had the dreaded neck break.

The eBay Style C is at $686 right now, which is approaching the upper limit of what any sane person should pay for it. Of course, we're talking about mandolin players, so "sane" may not enter the picture.
