Nice one... He didn't make it along to Stage 2 which is where was stuck for the weekend, except a quick lunch break where I raced off to chat to some of the instrument makers.

I don't know what language he's singing in, but his mandolin playing is in a universal language. I love the duel soloing between the fiddle and mandolin around the four minute mark-- great stuff, thanks for posting.

What language is he speaking?

I believe that is actually Saturnian, the language the song was written in - similar to American English but a bit cooler. :cool: Jimi (Hendrix) was not of this world, but from Saturn, specifically South Saturn Delta, and would occasionally lapse into his home dialect when the vibes were just so.

Good going on this, especially on an amplified acoustic rather than electric mandolin. Even threw in the behind-the-head routine there. It's fun to do that - people don't expect it from a mandolin. I used to do that in an old country duo, on "Folsom Prison Blues," as the solo is so easy and rock-solid I could count on not messing it up. People would really hoot when I did that - good fun! :mandosmiley:
