View Full Version : Help! What kind of Mando is this?

I was given this mandolin a while ago and don't know much history behind it. The original owner thought it was from the 1920's but wasn't sure of the manufacturer information. Also included were a couple sets of strings from the National Music String Co. and a really neat Gibson Pick pouch (might have been purchased after the Mando)

Looks like a Stromberg-Voisenet. 1920s would be about right. S-V later became the Kay Company. It looks like it is in very good condition. Does it play well?

It plays well. Minor scratches and a small crack in the headstock but besides that, great condition. I play the guitar so I can't really use and appriciate this as much as my other instruments.

I'm thinking about selling/trading it for another guitar. What would be reasonable for a Mando like this?
