Do you have the wire taped to the top of the mandolin? I would be worried that it would leave a sticky residue on the finish. Otherwise it is nice looking mandolin.

NB: stationary stores have pliable putty like stuff, bluetack one of the colors, a few pea size balls will hold down your pickup wire without leaving adhesive residue, at all.
