Hi guys,
I spent the first year and a half of my mandolin playing life using a Golden Gate pick on my 8 string acoustic. Well, recently I purchased a four string electric and I'm finding myself in a slight dilemma. Basically, I want to use a thinner pick but I've grown so accustomed to the size and shape of the Golden Gate...I don't know where to turn. Every time I use a "regular" guitar pick it feels so small in my hands. Do you guys know of any picks that would be more suitable for an electric but still retain the size and shape of a GG?

Thanks!
ChrisW.

I've been in a similar boat. #Usually, I use the rounded end of a triangle pick when playing electric (and turn to the point when I need a little brighter picking action) -- not perfect, but it works for me.

I use a Russian domra pick, but a D'Andrea 'Pro-Plec" is pretty nice. The 1.5 mm comes as a small pointy pick, and they also make a larger, rounded version. (I sand the picks to get a very rounded pick edge). I hope that this is useful for you.
