My 2007 Eastman 515 is a good one, but I am considering swapping out the stock bridge for something like a CA or a Randy Wood. The mando is loud and bright with a decent bottom end. Big chop in A but G, Bb and B and further up the neck isn't so big. Would a higher quality bridge tighten up the bass response down the board? Thanks

I have had excellent results upgrading the bridges on Eastman's. It doesn't entirely change the mandolin though. It will generally give the mandolin a fuller more balanced tone.

A bridge upgrade should yield an improvement on your 515, but it will be just as much about the setup and how the bridge is fit. The stock Eastman bridge is ok (if fit well), but not on par with something like the CA bridge.

Ill check it out then. Thanks. I thought about the same on gibson loar copy i had made by a guy in the area but the bridge that was on it came off a 1916 F4 so i left it alone.
