Well here is the deal, I do not know much about mandolins and just starting toplay again....With that being said I have to decide on which one to buy..I played both and like both , BUT is one better than the other or I they both about the same as far as quality built.

Hi Ray,

No wrong choice here. Personally I prefer the LM-700, but the Kentucky is a good mandolin as well. Your in a great position having played them both. Were you able to get a feel for the difference in tone and playability between the two. Try to disregard the string height, as this is just based on the setup, but did you have a preference for the nut width, neck profile, or flat vs radiused board? These are some of the differences. While the two mandolins are in the same range of quality, they are also about as different as you can get. :)
