Hello Everybody,

Just shown off my baby *The Morgan Monroe* and this hand built mandolin I bought from a shop last week. The inscription in the inside says it was built by T.T. Deason in Louisville Ky in 1966. You guys ever seen a mandolin like this cause I looked all over and don't have a clue how he came up with that design. The only thing I can think is he was inspired by a dulcimer maybe?

Welcome to the Cafe. That second mandolin, I've not seen anything like it... kid of like a folk art flying V or a Klingon Bird of prey. How does it sound?

It needs work. I have to move the bridge a little bit to get the intonation right. It has an interesting sound. The neck is very thick and the action is pretty high. The tone is a bit flat but still an interesting instrument. :-)
