I was alerted to this by a post on thesession.org.
I saw him play a few times in the 1970s, he was flatpicking guitar when I saw him. He was bloody good, and a good bloke tooo by all accounts.

How very sad! His playing with the Bushwackers was a joy to listen to.

Indeed. Murrumbidgee and Faces In The Street are two old favourite albums of mine and I have some wonderful 1980/81 live recordings of the Bushwackers with Louis playing. Great picker, great fiddler.
