Came across this looking on a site of a friend of mine. Obviously this isn't mine (One can only dream), but just thought I would share the absolute beauty of the wood in this I love it!

This mando is well known to the Cafe.
Massimo has been trying to sell it since August of '11.
I am surprised it has not sold cause these things kick ass and this one is gorgeous.
My Smart (#124) was stolen and thankfully recovered but seeing this on the classified made my blood pressure rise (and still does).
Unfortunately I just don't have an extra 7K to toss around or I'd go for it.

I just found this nice Mix F5 for sale in Oakland, CA for 5 K and it's tempting too:

You might tell us who built it...

I don't know I didn't want to intrude or violate some thread rule where I'm selling a company but whatever. This is Lawrence Smart who is based out of Hailey ID. My uncle bought a few instruments off of him and lives relatively close so I checked out his work. You said this particular mandolin is going for 7k Treblemaker?

Lawrence is in the builder's database. (http://www.mandolincafe.com/cgi-bin/builders/searchdb.cgi?uid=default&view_records=1&keyword=smart&submit=Search) You'll also find a link to his website there. A picture of this mandolin appears on his page.

OK, I know Lawrence and I've seen this mandolin before. I just didn't recognize it.

It's perfectly OK to post a picture of a mandolin that you admire, even if it's for sale ... as long as you aren't the one selling it. We do like to know who the builders are, though.

It's even more OK when the picture (and the mandolin) is quite as beautiful as that one!

Massimo sold it last week.

Shame, I'd have given him a couple hundred bucks for it! I know, the wood on this thing is flawless.
