Mike,
Both are beautiful. Can we hear them? Personally I like 11 best. I'm not that big on the sunburst thing as I love seeing the wood, so the lighter treatment I find very apealing. But I assure you.. I'd be very proud of both of them!

YESSS!!

And surely there's some story to the dice on the back of #11's headstock?

I took that as a clever way to tell it was #11.... Another vote for #11

Very nice. I'll chime in for sound clips.
Is #11 based on actual measurements of the Loar A?
Thanks,
Bill

Yes, #11 is based off the original Loar A5.

As for sound clips...I should have done one for #11 before I sent it off. The new owner received it yesterday and maybe we can talk him into a sound clip.

I can add a sound clip for #12 later tonight.

If I thought I could get to that level after 11 mandolins I'd have a go myself. They look great. I look forward to seeing more.

I can personally vouch that my fingerprints have been on these two and will be there upon arrival at their destinations unless cleaned very thoroughly. Two very fine mandolins, Mike. Keep up the good work.

I noticed those Scott. I was going to wipe them off but picked up a pick instead.
Maybe I'll have time to get to them next week or so.

I wish Mike had done a sound ttrack of #11. He's a MUCH better player than I am.
I think you would see much better how it sounds under his hand.
But, I'll give it a try.

They are both quite lovely, Mike. Well done. #12 makes me weak at the knees....

Kudos to Mike!!

I've got his #9. Inspired by the Griffith Loar A5 it's a pleasure to play and delight to hear. In it's first five months the voice has developed beyond expectation. As a testement to the volume its become the "go-to" mando for Bluegrass.
Thanks mike!

Okay, I had a little time today, with the snow day, so I finally recorded a tune with #12. The tune is Norman Blake's - Bright Days.

I'm jealous Mike. I wished I could have stayed home and played #11 today.
#12 sounds awesome. Someones going to be very happy. Imagine what these
two will sound like when the glue is dry and they've been played in awhile.
