My mando teacher has given me "Granny does your dog bite?" by Bill Monroe to learn. However, Im not familiar with it at all, and need to "hear it" to get started. Ive searched the web trying to locate a MP3 on it, but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have any ideas as to where to locate one? Thanks!!

I think the J.P. Fraley and his wife did this on one of their alblums. Check Mid Continent music.

I suggest Mike is correct. The reason being - although I'm far from a Monroe "expert' - to my knowledge Mr. Bill never recorded - for public consumption - such a tune. You might ask your teacher where he learned/heard it. Sounds like something a bit more "ole' timey" gerne. Good luck & let us know how you progress. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Old Crow Medicine Show does this one on their first album.

Thanks Pattroglyph!!

That was just what I needed.....It helps to "hear it" to "play it".

The piece is coming along nicely, albeit, slowly oh course.
Nice tune to learn.

Thanks all!!..
