LOL I have a great, great video of him interrupting. The cat is so used to constant music with my brother and I (Both guitarists for over 10 years) that he doesn't even notice anymore.

My wife always tells me that when a cat's tail twitches like that they are getting ticked-off by something. In spite of that I think the song rendition is was excellent. That mandolin has great tone, but I suspect your technique is at least half of the equation.
