I'm hooked to the design. The only thing Im not sure is the koa wood. I have never played a koa mando and im fearing a uke-ish sound. Otherwise, the craftsmanship seems pretty clean.

It looks promising. The workmanship looks pretty good from what I can tell. He even has purfling going around the body and the peghead which can't be too easy to pull off. A lot of work went into that F4. I wish i could play it in person, tho.

I agree that this looks like a very well built mandolin.I live near Rochester,N.Y. and am not familiar with this builder.Hes either fairly new or low key.
Its the same old thing...you've got to play it to see what it sounds like.E-mail him to agree on a short test period before he cashes your check.
