I was wondering if there is any kind of mando-only meeting here in the UK, like the americans seem to do once in a while.

Not aware of anything existing, but the idea sounds good to me!

There is a Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Society of Great Britain, I believe. Perhaps they have some mandolin-only events.
