I grew up in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia & spent some quality time in Cape Breton as a child & youth.........I grew up listening to a lot of this marvelous music.......thanks for posting.

I thought he seemed familiar. I've played a mandolin and octave mandolin of his owned by Claudine Langille of Gypsy Reel. Fantastically beautiful instruments with a warm, sweet and woody tone -- great for Celtic -- and certainly entirely unlike anything Gibsonian -- more like an ultra-warm Weymann flavor.

I've got a fiddle made by Otis. It's a lifetime keeper! I use it as my cross-tuner for old time music, but it can handle anything.
