There are a couple of Moon Beam (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3705104907&category=10179) mandolins on eBay, built by Glenn Robertson Jr. (Here's another one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3704764398&category=10179)). #They look pretty nice, and are very reasonably priced.

Anybody ever hear of or play one of these? #There's nothing in the Mandolin Cafe builders database about them.

Joe, I had one Mahogany backed A & was very impressed. I'll have a Blackface A & a 2 point later today. I'll fill you in when I have them in hand. I also have 2 more 2 points on order with Glenn slated for March delivery.

Oh yeah, all of them I am recieving have radiused fretboards & 1 3/16" width at the nut....

Dale,

How many instruments has he built? #From the description in the eBay ad, he seems fairly young.

If his mandos sound as nice as they look, he'll definitely be a builder to watch. #(I love the dark red burst).

Posted Saturday about Moonbeams after seeing Randy Jones of LRB play one Friday and it sounded great and he recommended them but the thread that I was sent on seemed pretty down on the builder and some weren't to impressed with the instruments themselves, so once again, there are two sides to every coin. I was impressed with the sound. Didn't play one, but his did pack the punch.
