FYI - Andy Statman has been hired as a scholar-in-residence at the University of Washington's School of Music (cosponsored by the Jewish Studies Program). He'll be working with students individually as well as giving classes, that are, as far as I know, open to the public, but you may need to check with the school of music. He'll be here from Jan. 9 - 19.

He will also be performing on Jan. 15, 1:00 PM, at the Mercer Island Jewish Community Center in what they're billing as an intimate performance with Q & A. Seniors and students $10; gen. admission is $15, and you can register for seats at www.sjcc.org.

And those of you who have been enjoying Andy's brilliant new album, "Old Brooklyn" (with Paul Schaffer, Byron Berline, Bela Fleck, Paul Sholle, Ricky Skaggs and others), you may enjoy this interview posted on a Jewish music website: http://jewishmusicreport.com/2011/12/12/exclusive-interview-with-andy-statman-part-2-old-brooklyn/.
