Here's an F-2 I just finished light setup/cleaning work for a customer on. It's got me infatuated with 2s once again, the evil bugger. Beautiful instrument and a super loud one to boot, though missing it's PG.

And here's a video clip:

Wow Jake, that is a beauty, but I'm most impressed with your playing.. REALLY NICE.
Obviously you are not only a workman but a fine musician to boot!

Nice, Jake. And nice of you to head off the requests for a sound clip.

Really nice Jake. To me that is everything that a Loar era F-2 ought to be. That's some really attractive birch on the back. usually you just get plain, but that's got some figure to it. Plus one of my favorite sunbursts. Case looks good too.

After owning an A2(and now on my second one), I've come to really love birch as a back wood, & this one does have some flame!. Nice sound, look, & playing.

Birch is good stuff. Everyone is also really surprised at how some of the '20s Harmony "parlor" geetars sound.

Not to mention... most of the old Cushman furniture was made from the stuff... so up here in VT you can both sit on birch and play it. Heh. :)

Dave: It sure IS a good'n.

...by which I meant, the old Harmony 12 fretters with spruce/birch mix.

Interesting to see a "Loar era" F-2. It seems that when looking for the F series with the truss-rod (F-5 excepted), I almost always see the F-4 model. But that one is pretty enough to make me think the extra cash spent on the F-4 would be wasted.

That's beautiful playin' there Jake.

And just imagine how good that F-2's gonna sound once she's broke in!

:)

Congrats to you both.
