Reminds me of that dot candy we got as kids which came on a roll of paper.

I was thinking about that the other day...and string licorice....how you used to buy candy out of the open air, unpackaged

Now all we have to find is the rest of the outfit - jeans and jean jacket "BeDazzeled ?" That would take the rest of the finish off the back.

Hey......that is BeDazzled...... the spotlight on that baby & it would be psychedelic! :disbelief:

This is what happens when grand daughters are left unattended in Grampa's bedroom and they get under the bed or in the closet.

Now, in my mind's hazy eye, there was a Loar or Fern which had Rhinestones on it, though not that dang many. And maybe just on the headstock. Darryl or Tom, remember that one?

Yes, that was Larry Sledge's '24 Loar...around the edge of peghead

Ah so. Can't recall where I saw it, maybe at one of the Loar fests in Louisville, 1998,99,2000.

Nothing like a few ounces of rhinestones glued to the top, for enhancing its vibratory characteristics...

I'm guessing Italian lounge act, a little Santa Lucia, Funiculi-Funicula, maybe a tarantella...

There was also a teens F-4 project not long ago that had the bedazzled headstock.

I play Santa Lucia, O Sole Mio and the Godfather theme ... but I wouldn't touch that mandolin with a 39 & 1/2 foot pole ... :disbelief:

That never would have happened to a properly vaccinated mandolin. Once it breaks out like that it's probably going to wear the scars forever. Such a tragedy, so preventable.

"Aw, honey. Daddy's sorry that you're sick and had to stay home from school. And I know you're bored. Why not try to find something creative to do? You know, like Daddy has his mandolin to be creative with, maybe you can find some sort of creative project to do. I'll be home in a few hours."

There's a part of me that wants to rescue that thing. Fortunatly the other side of me is telling me to run the other way.

Well, no bids yet, 3+ days to go, $399 opening bid. If no one bids, and you swoop in and get it for $399, removing the "bling" and restoring the top finish would result in a pretty acceptable A-50 at a reasonable price. That's assuming there's nothing else wrong with it, as the seller states, of course.

Wait a minute -- the write-up says it's a Cibson mandolin! I thought it was a Gibson...

What's the resale value of a Cibson A-50? They must be rare -- never seen another.
