I have noticed slight distortion or deflection (if that's the right word) in a really great mandolin right under the bridge feet (under D & A strings) where they meet the top.
The situation does not appear to be getting worse and the action has stayed the same. I've had the mando for three months. I can't tell if it is getting worse or not. The tone and playability are still excellent. Does this necessarily mean disaster for the future? Or should I quit worrying about it?

Don't worry. It'll be alright or it wont, but don't worry.

Aside from that philosophical advice, If the top appears to be stable, it will probably be fine. Even if it starts to move, it will probably be fine. If not, it can probably be fixed. If it was made by a reputable builder, he or she will probably stand behind it.

It is not uncommon to see some deflection under the bridge feet and this doesn't mean anything is wrong.
