Need help with mandolin ID

Hello everyone.

Can anyone help me with ID this mandolin? It belonged to my grandfather and his father before him, and apparently has spent the last 60+ years in an attic in NE Nebraska. The condition is regrettable, but I'm pleased it's been discovered nonetheless. Any help would be appreciated.

That is a Regal "reverse scroll" probably from the 1920s. They are prone to top sinkage and not particularly well made. That said I've had 2. still have one and it sounds great nice tubby oval hole sound.

I think the official term that Regal (and others) used at the time was "Papa Smurf Scroll". Or at least that was what I have seen in numerous period catalogs. ;)
