There was a fella that had made a song book with adobe acrobat and posted a link to it for people to down load. I had it on my pc before the fall meltdown and need it again. Does any one have a link to the download or have a copy of the file?

As I can recall, it had a photo in the background of the blueridge on every page. There was also an explanation of the Nashville numbering system in the back of it.

Any help is appreciated

You're welcome fellas. Note that there are a few mistakes throughout, and I haven't updated any fixes. But hey, it's free http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Wow! The mistakes are free, too? I had to pick up all my current mistakes on my own! I'm due for a new set. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Thanks a lot Dave. How about those of us who find mistakes post corrections here so people can update their copies? Here's one for "Footprints in the Snow":

1114 verse
5551
1114
5511

1155 chorus
5511
1114
5511

I tried to dredge up this songbook and it doesn't appear to be around any more.

Does anyone have a copy of the PDF file?

Thanks,

I tried the link too, and got the same error. Then looked at the original dates of these posts. Feb. 2004! Wish that link worked...

I don't think that is the same book. #The message talk about Nashville Numbering. #That link is to lyrics only.

I also googled and found a link but it required you to be a member of the yahoo group "front range pickers"

Thank you Mandofiddle! You know, as a no-longer-a-beginner, but still-no-expert, I have been aware of the Nashville numbering system, and the sequence of chords it represents. But I've actually never seen it "on paper" (okay, dependence on tab, I admit) until just now. And it immediately clicked. Choose your key and off you go. Interesting that I just e-mailed a mando teacher who I haven't seen recently, to say "hey, I've hit a plateau, let's get together, and get me moving ahead". I know this may be slow at first, but he recommended Brad Laird's Mandolin Master Class, which I ordered earlier today. With this book, and Mandofiddle's songbook, I see a new horizon, and, well, let's just say I'm looking forward to hiking toward that horizon to see what's out there. Cool.
