I have played a Gibson, Collings, Gilchrist, Weber..........I have been told by many players that mine sounds just as good as theirs. I put a bridge mounted pick-up on it so I could play it at church..I ran the "guitar Mass" at my church for 8 years. It is a beautiful mandolin and sounds like an angel singing.

Welcome to the Cafe!

Heard a lot of good things about Kentuckys. IMO, what matters most is that YOU love it. :)

Congrats on your new "baby". You're a quick study. It took me a couple of years of playing mando in church using a stand-mounted microphone to switch to an internal mic. In my case, I use a Schertler, but whatever you use allows freedom of movement while playing. Shore makes the sound man happy too!

And welcome to the forum!
