Adding a little color to the garden on its way to a new home:

Really pretty -- design, woods and the finish! Also I really like the tartan case liner -- it that the buyer's colors? You should post this on the Mandocello Enthusiasts facebook page!

Love the instrument, not so sure about the case, a little too much color for me ;)

Wow, quite a contrast!
I feel an Old Wave MAS attack every time I see one...

Nice! Love the design of the instrument.
Is that the Bussmann tartan?

Your sound files for this instrument seem too muted for my ears. I looked, and the instrument -does- have strings, so I don't know where the problem is. I've checked the chair-to-keyboard link on this end...please verify in N.M.

Beautiful work, BTW, including the case interior. I'd love to hear it.

Awesome - both the instrument AND the case rock!

Cheers,

Looks great Bill; I want one!!!

Wasn't there a matching guitar in that batch?

The tartan was Pegasus maker Sam's choice, glad Bob didn't want the instrument to match! He has a wonderful ex-dawg Gilchrist L12/K5 conversion, will get some youtubes up in a couple of weeks for comparison
Built the matching guitar several years ago, the cello has been in the works ever since....

What a purty instrument! Bet it feels nice over the leg, too.

I played them both back to back recently and prefered the OW. I need to visit those two again, maybe this weekend I hope :).

They both sound wonderful. That C string on the Gil conversion is pretty amazing.

I've never considered a mandola... but my mouth is now watering, which could become expensive. :)

Bill what vintage was the L12 that served as the basis of that conversion? Was it a 16" body?

Best. Case. Ever. And the 'cello isn't so bad, either. ;)

Thanks, it was a late 30's 16" body if I recall correctly, the gold standard by which all c strings should be judged, at least in person.....
