I'd advise you to just try to get a regular girlfriend and play music on the mandolin.

Might not be good advice, Mike. Kenneth might be married.

I knew someone would grab that straight line. I was tempted, but said to myself, "No, let someone else take it this time." Ten minutes later, you guys had exceeded my wildest expectations!

You guys are so negative. I've "had" mandos with more character than some of the women I've known...

I dated a Flatiron for a little over a year. Very nice looking, but lacked depth. It didn't work out.

Kenneth, we're not being much help here. There is a good site on Harmony guitars (http://www.broadwaymusicco.com/Harmony20.htm). If you look at the "Model Identification" link, it gives some examples of the models and "dating" numerology. The problem is many instruments have numbers stamped inside that don't seem to use the standard code (I have several old Harmony guitars). If your mandolin looks like an early 70s model, I would guess '71 from the 3671.

Mando Johnny, I tried not to put it in there. But after I got the foot in my mouth to keep from saying it, and no mandolin at work to keep my hands occupied, I ended up typing it.

Where do you live ? I'm from Massachusetts, where mando dating has been legal for several years. However, many red states have not legalized dating outside your species, and I'd check with your local DA 's office before you go any further.

You could always come to Boston for a few days, see the sights, do a little dating ( lots of good music stores in the area). It 's almost like a Club Med scene around here for mando daters.

Best of luck! Eric

Usually one dates folks of the opposite sex, but whatever floats your boat...

alas Harmony was my first, though i loved to stroke her, she barely responded, even to my most vigorous attempts, i thought it was me, but later i learned she was just too thick, and worse that her top was not real. but still, i didn't want it to end when tradedgy struck, an accident with a pitch pipe, poor Harmony died of a broken neck

the above is a true story, i think the harmony mandos were around from the early 70's to mid 80's, mine was a fair entry level instrument, an A model with F holes. when the neck separated from the body i pitched it. although you here different opinions i think they were generally a poor attempt by todays standards, hence the lack of interest in dating. there have been posts in the past on the subject.
