Michael Lewis is making an octave mando for me. I saw a picture of Tim O'Brien's Nugget octave mando as a potential model. Does anyone know what the neck length is? Any thoughts or suggestions as what the neck length should be will be greatly appreciated. Rich Michaud

I asked Bill Bussman about Tim O's scale length on the Nugget when I ordered my Old Wave GBOM. Bill said he thought Tim's octave was 22.5" or so and he had never seen him play it without a capo. I find Bill's 21.25" fairly reachable for melody stuff. Wouldn't want to go any longer.

Thanks guys. I will probably take the suggestion of using a 20.75" or 21" given my finger sizes. Much obliged. Rich
