Their description makes it sound like a wonderful instrument, but I have no idea if they say that about every instrument.

Nice mando. Very wide grain on the top. Purty, for sure.

It seems Gils have wide grained tops quite a bit to acheive a certain tonal style.

Any opinions, or is THAT a silly question!?!?:grin:

I've owned,played, bought and sold a lot of old gibson A models..Seems to me that the wider the grain the better,louder and fuller the sound,particularly the sheraton brown A-2's..they usually seem to have a wider grain than the pumpkin tops..I think there is something to it..

Sorry for the late response. Yes, I bought this one last summer. It came along at the perfect intersection of opportunity and availability. It's a wonderful mandolin.
