An Eastman was a great choice! Congratulations. I think their varnish mandolins sound especially good, and I really like the neck shape on those.

Good for you. :mandosmiley:The 815's seem to be held in high regard from what I could gather in my research. Will yours be new or used?
I found mine used so I really had no preference on the finish. It's a 2007 that has opened up quite well.
Look forward to reading the details and seeing some pics. I wish I had a better camera to post better pictures.

Congratulations on the 815V. I have been enjoying mine since I purchased it in January. I highly recommend replacing the factory bridge with a well-fitted Cumberland Acoustics model. Instant increase in volume and sustain.

Congrats to a fellow Ontarian on the new mandolin. I picked up a 2006 815 last year, and I'm loving it. Got some nice compliments on the tone on the weekend:
