That is a beautiful mandolin you have but how does it sound? I have an Arches A-5 s/n xxxxxxo16 that is probably the most beautiful A style mandolin I have ever seen but it does not stay in tune very well and the a and e strings sound a bit thin. I bought it from a dealer and didn't realize the problems until later. When I tried it out, he had it tuned properly and I found out the next day it drifted alot. Also, it is strange to me that a mandolin sounds fine by itself on the a and e strings but don't carry well in a group setting. The action is set high enough and the fretboard is perfect but the sound is just not there. I was told in about a year it will mellow out and get better but I'm not holding my breath.
