Last night several mandolin players got together just to work on a few songs, just play with some one else.

Two guys I jammed with before another is a kindergarten teacher.

We spent about 1-2 hours just kicking it around. By the end of the evening, we focused on one song..It takes a worried man to sing a worried song... what great things happen. Other then I started to warm up, get in the grove, what ever you call it. But what ever it is I truly felt that I have grown more. There was no bass, no banjo, just four mandolins in a room playing. Your missed placed strums or picks really showed, this helped me to play better. really focus not just on the singing, but the whole ball of fire. You see I understand the soul of bluegrass but I felt it last night.

The ,I think the Eagles, i am sure many others also do, without instruments will gather the group around each other and sing. So any mistakes in the singing will show. Well I don't sing to good, but not that bad either , but playing like this gave me a road map of what I fell I will be working on.

Thanks to Lydon Chuck and Pat.

Those are the moments you play for. Keep it up.
