hey all,

im wondering if anyone knows anything about the song dill pickles. its a rag and ive got the first bit but not the rest. anyone know anything about it?

Dill Pickle Rag is a great tune. Jesse Mc Reynolds does a great version of it. I have heard a great Dan Crary version on an instructional tape somewhere....

There are some good cross picking lines in the tune as well.

Check out Joe Carr's book "Texas Fiddle Favorites For Mandolin" Mel Bay. Has "Dill pickle Rag" 'Red Apple Rag" "Tom and Jerry" and several other cools tunes.. The book has a CD as well that I listen to all the time in the car..

I used to do it with another guitarist - there is a very
nice bass line for the second guitar (g-f#-e-d-
e-d# - d -c# etc., in G); someday I will rearrange it
for solo fingerstyle, because the third part, in C,
is very well suited for that. Doesn't feel that good
on the mandolin.
