This is a really awesome mandolin that I've been playing for about a month now. It has a single piece old-sitka-spruce top and the back, sides, and neck are quilted cherry. The back is also a single piece. It plays like a dream and has a great tone. You can check them out at http://www.moonbeammandolins.com

I had it out at a local gathering yesterday. All of the musicians there were commenting on the volume, tone, and projection of this mandolin. It has a very gutty sound with a LOT of bottom and volume. It's very balanced too. I'm really having a blast with it.
