Even more: Andy's painfully beautiful Flatbush Waltz with Jon Sholle.

Anyone know where that was? I caught Statman and Grisman at Yoshi's in San Francisco a while back. I think those performances made You Tube as well. This one got me--- I forgot about the guitar hiding in the background and then I was hearing these bent notes thinking "How do they do that!

City Winery in Manhattan last Sunday night. I was there! Fun. Also got to see Hilary Hahn and Chris Thile play in Brooklyn a couple of weeks back. I went to both shows as a result of seeing them listed on the front page here at the Cafe. Much appreciated, Scott.

Er, I'm guessing that's a typo.

Great music! And yet... Statman and Grisman collaborated on one of the least listenable, IMHO, mandolin recordings I've heard: Mandolin Abstractions from 1983.

I now expect all who loved the album to come rushing to its defense.
